Ruby Slipper Diaries is under construction and redesign by the lovely Victoria from 329 Designs. My prior posts from August haven’t carried over, bear with us while the conversion is going on 😉
I am very excited to share with you one of my Project Fab purchases from Marshalls. I had fall trends in mind when I made my purchases, I fell in love with the color and fit of this dress it couldn’t be more perfect for the transition from warm to cold weather.
I also found these gorgeous suede and patent eggplant pumps. Surprisingly, they are super comfortable for an 8 hour work day. I’m a fashion over function gal, if it looks good I’ll make it work and worry about the pain later.
Ever see the Friends episode when Monica buys the expensive boots? That episode could have been written about me. The things we do for the love of fashion!
Dress- Donna Morgan c/o Marshalls ($49.99)
Pumps- Lauren by Ralph Lauren c/o Marshalls ($39.99)
Jacket- Forever 21
Sunnies- Guess via TJ Maxx
I paired the dress with a cropped black jacket I already owned, the neck line isn’t exactly appropriate for the office, but I couldn’t contain my excitement I had to show it off ASAP! Problem solved- Jacket, blazer or Cardigan.
I envision wearing this with black tights, ankle boots and a fitted blazer later in the season.
Hope you’re having a great week!
Thanks for stopping,

It is 100 degrees this week (no joke) over here on the East Coast. I sympathize with anyone who works outdoors in this type of weather; if that’s you, stay hydrated and take breaks. Safety First!
This heat is not conducive to good hair days, what is voluminous, shiny waves in the house turns into a limp, sweaty, straight mess by the time I cross the parking lot to enter work. In an attempt to offset the flat hair I punched up my attire with a bright color combo.
The necklace, a birthday gift, was my inspiration for the color scheme. Yellow and Teal.
See what I mean about the hair?
Necklace: LOFT (currently on sale) Check it out here
They have it in Yellow, white and Pink!
Hope everyone is having a great week!
Thanks for stopping,
My vacation has come to an end back to reality. We were fortunate to have great weather all week and its always a blast to spend time with family. Til next year!
Manic Monday and back to work (Yes I realize today is Wednesday I’m a little behind this week.. Bear with me 😉 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; dresses are my staple come summer.
You can dress them up for work and dress them down for play. The LBD is the perfect example.
For Work: Grab a colorful blazer or cardigan, add some statement jewelry and wedges. Viola! Office Appropriate!
For Play: Colorful scarf, flats and a cute tote (got mine at Target $9.99!) Easy Breezy!
Here is how I styled my LBD for Work:
Shoes: Nine West

Sunnies: Guess via TJ Maxx
Happy 4th to Everyone! What are your plans tomorrow?

Lunch/Study Session in the Park earlier this week, perfect setting for a quick photo op. My outfit was inspired by another Coast to Coast Central Challenge ‘Pink Lemonade.’
An unexpected color combination that I would not have tried if not for the Challenge. I loved the pairing and plan on incorporating it more into my wardrobe.
Pink is really a versatile color, my favorite combos:
Pink and Cobalt
Pink and Orange
Pink and Yellow
What unexpected color combos are your favorite?

Hope you had a Great Weekend!
I’m loving me some Tweed this year, as my style evolves I find myself leaning more toward classic pieces. Channeling my inner Coco.
Here is another dress that I bought on my shopping spree to Marshalls a few months back. Has a retro feel reminds me of something a house wife from the 50’s would wear.
I’m seeing a lot of the fit and flare trend in stores, Target had a few that I featured in my last post. Reasonably priced and very classic looking. This style is very versatile and flatters most body types. Cinch the waist with a skinny belt and add a statement necklace, you are ready for a special occasion.
Throw on a cardigan, embellished flats and a set of pearls and off to work you go. Channel your inner Audrey Hepburn with a top knot and Red Lips- So Hollywood 🙂
We had the best weather this week, it was short lived but “beggars can’t be choosers” as the saying goes.
I live for sunshine, blue skies and warmth, there is something about spring and summer that induces an internal happiness.
Tis the season to get pedicures and start looking for cute sandals! For anyone that is familiar with Boscovs department stores they are having their annual Buy one pair of shoes get one for $1.00 sale on April 20th. Ill be scoping the goods this week… I’ll share my finds, stay tuned!
Some of the trends this year are:
•Wedges(always a fan favorite)
•Metallics (jewelry for your feet)
•Black and White (your new neutral, wear with anything)
•Nude (the answer to “what shoes should I wear- nude sandals are a no brainer)
•Pops of Color (for anyone who has a very neutral wardrobe. Colored shoes are the easiest way to update your daily outfits)
Here is a little ‘Shoe-spiration’ for your spring shopping!
